Opisthobranch of the Week Data
Taxonomy:
As of the current date I've not personally seen specimens of the above attractive little aeolids here in the waters of Okinawa's main island. Cuthona sp. 3 is considered by Atsushi Ono to be very rare in waters of the Keramas* and he reports (pers. comm.) seeing only two individuals in the Keramas and only a single specimen was collected. Atsushi goes on to say that the above animals were found on the hydroid Euphysora bigelow, upon a sandy environment. The above image was taken by Atsushi and is used here with his kind permission.
