Species Account:

        Goniodoris sp. 1 is considered to be very rare in the waters of Okinawa's main island as I have collected only a single specimen. The animal was collected during a late morning SCUBA excursion from the bottom of a narrow coral rubble covered cut (spur & groove formation), in the midst of a predominantly dead stony coral reef; the specimen was found crawling on the surface of a small piece of rubble. I've added a second page with two additional images of the above animal.

        There are currently two described species of Goniodoris found in the waters of Okinawa's main island. These two species are:
