Species Account:

Goniodoris sp. 4 is considered to be very rare on in the waters of Okinawa's main island as I have seen and collected only the above single individual. The animal was found on a blade of brown alga in a sorting pan later at home following a SCUBA dive. The sample itself was from a "grunge" sample of mixed thallophytes and rubble, collected from an area of mixed sand and coral rubble.

In addition to the above featured animal, I've previously featured on these pages the following two described species of Goniodoris as well as three unknown species:

  • Goniodoris felis
  • Goniodoris joubini
  • Goniodoris sp. 1
  • Goniodoris sp. 2
  • Goniodoris sp. 3
