Shawn Miller

        Wildlife photographer and naturalist Shawn Miller specializes in capturing the flora and fauna of Okinawa, Japan. Equally at home on land and underwater, Shawn has documented rare and endemic species from birds and reptiles to nudibranchs and shells. Shawn specializes in creating motion in still photographs, fluorescence photography, environmental awareness and the protection of endangered species.
Shawn is a long term resident of Okinawa and he has been diving and exploring the Ryukyu Islands for over twenty years. Shawn was born in Honolulu and has been diving for almost twenty years. He's very interested in photography, both underwater as well as non-aquatic imagery. Shawn posts many of his photos on-line at Okinawa Nature Photography, as well as on Flickr, Instagram, and Facebook. He currently works as an Egress Instructor, instructing U.S. military service members in water survival, aircraft ditching and escape procedures.
